the Future
The church building
located at the corner of Downs Park Road and Cricketfield Road has served the Clapton community for over 150 years. Originally built in the 1870s as a Presbyterian chapel, the building has remained a place of faith, support, and gathering for generations of local residents.
Since 1964
Clapton New Testament Church of God has faithfully continued this legacy, using the building as a centre for worship, community engagement, and initiatives that support young people, families, and the wider community.
Today, as these initiatives continue to grow, essential upgrades are needed to ensure the building remains a safe, welcoming, and effective space for community programmes and outreach activities.
An appeal is currently underway to raise £180,000 to carry out important improvements to the building, helping to preserve this historic space while enabling vital community initiatives to continue and expand.
Supporting this appeal is an investment not only in a building, but in the continued development and wellbeing of the community it serves.
